Whitewater Community Guide

Quick answer: Whitewater is a city of about 16,000 on the Walworth and Jefferson county line, about 35 minutes northwest of downtown Lake Geneva. It’s home to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, sits at the edge of the Kettle Moraine State Forest Southern Unit, and has Whitewater Lake and the John Muir mountain bike trails a few miles from downtown.

Come for the trails, a Warhawks game or a show at The Young Performing Arts Center, then eat downtown on Cravath Lake.

Most people driving to Geneva Lake from Madison pass within a few miles of Whitewater without stopping. That’s a mistake if you ride bikes, hike or like a downtown with 2 lakes and a brewery on the water.
