Mistakes to avoid

Trying to walk the whole Shore Path in a day. It’s about 21 miles on stone, grass and steps. Pick a segment and plan a boat back.

Paddling at midday on a summer Saturday. Boat wakes make it rough. Go early or paddle in Williams Bay.

Trusting early-season ice. Geneva Lake is deep and freezes late. Ask a bait shop first.
