The lake is still warm and boats are still out. The Walworth County Fair runs Labor Day week in Elkhorn. Apple picking is in full swing, and The Abbey Resort’s Oktoberfest in Fontana lands on the last weekend of the month. Delavan’s Scarecrow Fest is in mid-September.

October

The best month. Oktoberfests fill the first 3 weekends, color peaks in the second half, and pumpkin patches, the Ghost Walk and Halloween parties run right up to Oct 31. Book lodging early for Oktoberfest weekend.

November

Farms and boat tours close, and the town gets quiet. It’s a good time for restaurants, the Shore Path and late rounds of golf. Late November brings Light Up Lake Geneva and the start of the holiday season. See winter activities.
