Darien Community Guide

Quick answer: Darien is a village of about 1,500 on US-14 in western Walworth County, about 6 miles west of Delavan and 25 minutes from downtown Lake Geneva.

It’s best known for Darien Corn Fest every September. Come for the parade and tractor pull, breakfast at West Wind Diner and a round of disc golf at Wildwood Park. Homes here sit on larger lots at lower price points than the Geneva Lake towns.

Darien grew up in the 1830s as a farm town and later a stop on the Milwaukee Road’s Racine and Southwestern branch. The Wisconsin and Southern still runs the line. Downtown is a short run of brick storefronts around the 4 corners, built mostly between the 1880s and 1950.

The village sits right off I-43, so Janesville, Beloit and Milwaukee are all within an hour.
