Our first pick for breakfast. The menu runs on local, seasonal ingredients, and the Bakery & Market at the same address sells pastries and bread to go.

The café is open daily from 7 AM to 3 PM. On summer weekends the wait gets long, so put your name in and walk the 3 blocks to the lake.

Order: Aronia Berry Pancakes ($14.95) or the Korean BBQ Breakfast Bowl ($15.95).

Egg Harbor Café

Breakfast and brunch · 827 W. Main St.

A big, bright brunch room that handles groups well. It’s part of a regional chain, but the Lake Geneva menu has a couple of dishes you only get here.

Order: Chorizo Chilaquiles ($16.50), marked on the menu as exclusive to this location.

Joni’s Diner

Breakfast and lunch · 111 S. Wells St.

The building is the story. Joni’s is a 1954 Jerry O’Mahoney diner car that spent decades in Duncannon, Pennsylvania, as the DeCoven Diner, then got shipped to Lake Geneva.

Inside it’s what you want from a diner: omelets, biscuits and gravy, Belgian waffles, and char-grilled burgers at lunch. There’s a kids’ menu for 12 and under.

Order: A Benedict, or the poutine at lunch.

Gotham BagelsNew

Breakfast and lunch · 300 Wrigley Dr., Suite B

Hand-rolled bagels, boiled “the New York way” and never steamed, baked every morning. The company started in Madison in 2006, and this shop shares an address with Emmi’s.

Open daily 7 AM to 2 PM, with online ordering for pickup.

Order: LOX & Cream Cheese ($13.24) or the OMFG Nashville fried chicken bagel ($15.80).

Breakfast House

Breakfast and lunch · 801 Williams St.

A breakfast-and-lunch spot out on Williams Street, away from the downtown lines. It closes at 2:15 PM.

Order: Chorizo Hash ($17) or the Bacon Chicken Waffle ($16), with Intelligentsia coffee.

Great Eggs

Quick breakfast · 220 Cook St.

The fast option. Made-to-order egg wraps start at $9.45, smoothies are $6, and the coffee is Colectivo out of Milwaukee. There’s seating inside and out.

Order: The Super wrap ($13.45), and split a Gigantic Wisconsin S’more ($7) on the way out.

Lake-Aire Restaurant

All day · 804 W. Main St.

A third-generation family restaurant on Main Street that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a Greek streak through the menu and a full bar.

Winter hours run Monday through Thursday 9 AM to 4 PM and Friday and Saturday 9 AM to 8 PM. Kids’ pancakes are $7.

Order: The Gyro Skillet ($19) at breakfast, or the Fish Fry ($22) on Friday.

Olympic Family Restaurant

All day, very late · 748 W. Main St.

“Home of the Olympian Breakfast,” and it means it. Olympic opens at 7:30 AM every day and stays open until 5 AM on Friday and Saturday nights, which makes it the answer to most 1 AM questions downtown.

Order: The Olympian Breakfast, or the Athenian Salad if you showed up for dinner.

Lake Geneva Pie Company

Breakfast and light lunch · 150 E. Geneva Square

Family-owned by John and Marty Adams since 2001. Beyond the pies, it’s quiche and pot pies for a real meal, plus muffins and cookies.

Open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 6:30 AM to 6 PM and Saturday until 3. It’s closed Wednesday and Sunday, and not every pie is available every day, so call ahead for a whole one.

Order: A slice of quiche and a pot pie to take home.

Sopra Bistro

Dinner · 724 W. Main St.

Our favorite downtown dinner. It’s an Italian-leaning bistro with a full pasta section, good martinis and a long bar if you didn’t plan ahead.

Dinner starts at 5 PM. Call ahead for a weekend table.

Order: “OG Bolo” sausage bolognese ($28) or “A Bay Bay,” bay scallops with pappardelle ($34).

Tuscan Tavern & Grill

Lunch and dinner · 430 Broad St.

Italian classics, steaks, seafood and brick-oven pizza in a building that’s held restaurants since 1910. Tuscan opened here in 2010.

There’s outdoor seating, a four-season room and private dining rooms. The staff are trained on allergies, and the gluten-free list is long. Reserve on Tock for parties up to 10.

Know: Open daily for lunch and dinner, with Sunday from 11 AM.

Crafted Italia

Roman-style pizza and house-made pasta in the Lodge at Geneva National, overlooking Lake Como. It’s the Italian dinner we’d drive out of town for.

Open Sunday through Thursday 4 to 9 PM and Friday and Saturday 4 to 10 PM. Book online.

Order: Fig & Prosciutto pizza ($24) to share, then Tagliatelle Bolognese ($36).

Ristoranté Brissago

Dinner · Grand Geneva, 7036 Grand Geneva Way

Grand Geneva’s Italian dining room on the second floor, with a wood-burning oven, ingredients brought in from Italy each week and an all-Italian wine list sorted by region.

Dinner only, year-round. It’s closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Reservations are recommended.

Order: Bucatini Carbonara or the Aragosta Tagliatelle.

Geneva ChopHouse

Dinner and Sunday brunch · Grand Geneva, 7036 Grand Geneva Way

The classic resort steakhouse: steaks, seafood and chops off an open-hearth grill.

Dinner runs Tuesday through Saturday. The Sunday brunch buffet (9 AM to 1 PM, $45 adults, $15 kids 12 and under) has carved prime rib and bottomless mimosas.

Hunt Club Steakhouse

Dinner · 555 Hunt Club Ct.

The more formal steak dinner, at Geneva National in a historic building that was renovated for 2026.

Open Sunday through Thursday 4 to 9 PM and Friday and Saturday 4 to 10 PM.

Order: Great Lakes Walleye Roulade ($44), or the 16 oz Prime Ribeye ($98) if it’s that kind of night.

Emmi’s Lake Geneva

Breakfast to dinner · 300 Wrigley Dr.

A covered deck built out over the water, open Wednesday through Sunday from 7 AM to 9 PM. It’s the easiest lake-view breakfast downtown.

Order: Bratwurst Benedict in the morning, walleye meunière at night.

Nick’s on the Lake @ Popeye’s

Lunch and dinner · 811 Wrigley Dr.

Nick and Veronica Anagnos opened it in 1972 on Wrigley Drive, and the outdoor rotisserie still turns year-round.

Open daily from 11:30 AM.

Order: Rotisserie chicken off the spit.

Barrique and Oakfire

Lunch and dinner · 835 and 831 Wrigley Dr.

Next-door neighbors on the lakefront. Barrique pours 80+ wines by the glass, bottle or flight, with small plates. Oakfire fires Neapolitan pizza to order, and its patio is close enough to hear the water.

Order: Oakfire’s lunch special: half a pizza with salad or soup, $12.95.

The Baker House

Dinner, brunch and tea · 327 Wrigley Dr.

Dinner and cocktails in an 1885 Queen Anne summer house on Wrigley Drive, with a lakeside dining room. It’s on the National Register of Historic Places.

Dinner starts at 5 PM, brunch runs Friday through Sunday 9 AM to 2 PM, and Saturday has a Victorian High Tea from 1 to 3. It’s closed Tuesdays.

Know: Brunch has bottomless mimosas for $24.99.

Oak & Oar at The Geneva Inn

Sunset dinner · N2009 S. Lake Shore Dr.

The sunset table on the south shore. Book about an hour before sunset and ask for a window.

Fall hours: closed Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday through Friday 3 to 9 PM, and Saturday and Sunday 11 AM to 9 PM.

Order: Friday’s beer-battered cod ($24), or the Oak & Oar Smash Burger ($20) at the bar.

PIER 290

The best lakefront seating on Geneva Lake: a sand beach, fire pits and the piers at Gage Marine. It’s open year-round.

Hours: closed Monday, Tuesday through Thursday 11 AM to 9 PM, Friday 11 to 10, Saturday 10 to 10 and Sunday 10 to 8, with weekend brunch 10 AM to 1 PM. Kids eat free every day.

Know: The lakeside igloos book from November 20: $45 at lunch or $75 at dinner for up to 6 adults.

DJ’s In The Drink

A lakeshore bar and grill you can reach by car, golf cart or boat. Seating is first come, first served.

It’s closed Thursdays. Sunday opens at 8 AM with breakfast until 11:30.

Order: Taco Tuesday: beef tacos are $1.25. Wednesday wings are half price from 5 PM.

Next Door Pub Lakeside

The Lake Como location of Next Door Pub, with the same stone-hearth pizza and picnic tables on the lawn by the water. It’s open year-round.

Hours: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 3:30 to 8:30 PM, Friday until 9:30, Saturday 11 AM to 9:30 PM and Sunday 11:30 AM to 8:30 PM. It’s closed Tuesdays. Happy hour runs weekdays 3:30 to 6.

Italian sandwiches, tavern-style “Undercut” pizza and a shelf of Italian groceries. It stays open very late, and you can order ahead for pickup.

Mama Cimino’s

Sicilian-style pizza with crusts up to 24 inches, from a family that’s been making pizza for almost 50 years. The Lake Geneva shop opened in 2010.

Open from 4 PM daily, until midnight Sunday through Thursday and 3 AM on Friday and Saturday. Pickup and delivery.
