Town of Delavan Lakefest 2026: Fireworks, Badger Band & Family Fun
Saturday, June 27, 2026 | 6 to 10 p.m. | Waters Edge at Delavan Lake Community Park, 1220 S. Shore Drive, Delavan | Free
Delavan gets an early start on Independence Day this year. Town of Delavan Lakefest returns to Waters Edge at Delavan Lake Community Park on Saturday, June 27, with pie, ice cream, a Badger Band performance, food trucks, and fireworks over the water.
This is the kind of lake night that works for every age. Kids have room to move. Grandparents can settle into a lawn chair. The fireworks reflect off Delavan Lake. Nobody needs a ticket to get through the gate.
Lakefest also lands during Delavan’s 10-day America 250 celebration, running June 26 through July 5. The full program includes more than 30 community events, but Lakefest is the first big lakefront night on the calendar.

The Lakefest schedule
Lakefest opens at 6 p.m. with the free All-American pie and ice cream giveaway, available while supplies last. Free glow necklaces and other giveaways run throughout the evening.
At 7 p.m., members of the University of Wisconsin Badger Band take the stage. It is a good excuse to get there early, get comfortable, and let the kids use up some energy before dark.
The Town of Delavan fireworks display starts at dusk over Delavan Lake. Organizers have announced a longer show for 2026, part of the local America 250 celebration. Tune to Lake 96.1 FM for the live synchronized music broadcast.
Food, drinks, and the practical stuff
Come hungry. Jo Jo’s Food Truck and Snowie Shaved Ice will be on site, with beer, seltzer, soda, and water available for purchase.
The event is outdoors on the lakefront, so plan for real Wisconsin summer conditions. Bring chairs or blankets, arrive with a little extra time for parking, and keep a light layer nearby for the ride home. The best viewing areas will fill first.
Lakefest is family-friendly, but it is not a ticketed festival with reserved seating. That is the charm. Show up, claim a patch of lawn, buy dinner, and wait for the sky to do its thing.
Make a full Delavan weekend of it
Lakefest is only one part of a busy America 250 weekend in Delavan.
On Friday, June 26, the Delavan Historical Society’s “From Roots to Remembrance” celebration runs from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Phoenix Park Bandshell. The evening includes a reading of the Declaration of Independence, a pie and cake silent auction, a pie-in-the-face contest, and music by the Watertown 1st Brigade Band.
On Lakefest night, people who prefer a resort shoreline can choose the free Lakeside Fireworks Viewing Party at Lake Lawn Resort, with a DJ and concessions from 7 to 9 p.m. It runs at the same time as Lakefest, so pick the setting that fits your crew. Lakefront lawn and family activities at Waters Edge, or a resort-side view with music at Lake Lawn.
Sunday, June 28, keeps the momentum going. Congdon Gardens’ Stars and Stripes Garden Walk hosts its free Stars and Stripes Garden Walk from noon to 3 p.m., and Lake Lawn hosts a free Patriotic Boat Parade Viewing Party at 3 p.m. The full America 250 schedule is worth saving because it runs straight through the Fourth of July.
For another free Saturday-night option, Eric Diamond, a Neil Diamond tribute, performs from 7 to 9 p.m. at Phoenix Park Bandshell. That one overlaps Lakefest, so it is a choose-your-own-Delavan situation.
Why Lakefest belongs on the calendar
Delavan Lakefest is not trying to be a giant regional festival. It is a straightforward community night on the water, and that is exactly why it works. You get the lake, the music, a food truck dinner, familiar summer traditions, and a fireworks show without spending the whole evening navigating a massive event footprint.
For visitors, it is an easy way to see the Delavan Lake side of Walworth County. For locals, it is one of those annual nights that turns into a standing plan before summer even starts.
Read our Delavan Community Guide for more places to eat, explore, and spend time around the lake. For the broader regional lineup, keep an eye on the Lake Geneva area events calendar.
