What’s Happening at The Lake this week?

Hey Lake Lovers,

This is that sneaky little week where Lake Geneva starts acting like summer is fully in charge. Wednesday music. Thursday farmers market. Friday fish fry. Saturday magic shows. Sunday brunch by the water. The calendar has a little bit of everything, which is dangerous if you’re the kind of person who says, “We’ll only stop for one drink,” and then somehow ends up listening to live music until your sandals give up.

For the week of May 27 to 31, 2026, Lake Geneva events include live music at The Bottle Shop, a Wednesday night blues jam at Hogs & Kisses, family art time at Creative Forces, the Lake Geneva and Williams Bay Farmers Markets, Best of All Festival, a Burt Bacharach tribute at The Belfry, a free outdoor movie in Lyons, fish fry nights, magic shows, East Troy Railroad rides, and resort fun at The Abbey.

And yes, Kim and Joel Reyenga of eXp Realty are still your local “what should we do this weekend, and also should we buy a place here?” people. Which is a niche. A good one.

Wednesday, May 27 | Ease into the week

Wee Ones Wednesday $5 Painting at Creative Forces Art Studio

Tiny artists, paint, and the kind of controlled chaos parents pretend is relaxing. I say that with love.

Creative Forces Art Studio is hosting Wee Ones Wednesday on May 27 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at 647 West Main Street, Suite 1000 in Lake Geneva. Painting kits are $5, salt art is $5, and open painting is also available. No age limit is listed, so this one works nicely for little hands and grandparents who secretly want to paint too.

Why go: It’s an easy midweek kids’ outing, especially if you need a break from screens, snacks, and the sentence “I’m bored.”

Music with Louie Blair at The Bottle Shop

The Bottle Shop has a way of making a Wednesday feel like a weekend appetizer. Lake Geneva native Louie Blair plays from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on May 27 at 617 W Main Street. His set is described as easygoing acoustic music with soothing vocals, covering multiple genres and eras.

Why go: Wine bar energy, local music, downtown Lake Geneva. That’s a solid little evening.

Sweet Treat Bonfire and Bar West Live Music at The Abbey Resort

The Abbey Resort in Fontana has two Wednesday night happenings on May 27. Sweet Treat Bonfire runs from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM, and Bar West Live Music runs from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The Abbey’s event calendar lists the resort address as 269 Fontana Boulevard, Fontana-On-Geneva Lake.

Why go: Fontana after dark with music and something sweet by the fire? Not exactly a terrible life decision.

Glenn Davis Blues Jam at Hogs & Kisses

If your night still has some gas left in the tank, this is where it goes. Glenn Davis hosts his blues jam every Wednesday night at Hogs & Kisses, the lively downtown spot at 149 Broad Street in Lake Geneva, from 9:00 PM to 11:30 PM on May 27. The kitchen gets you started early too, with half-price appetizers from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM and char-grilled shrimp specials until 8:00 PM.

Why go: Live blues, a packed downtown bar, and a late-night crowd that knows how to have fun. This is the Wednesday that accidentally turns into a real night out.

Thursday, May 28 | Market bags, jazz, and festival energy

Lake Geneva Farmers Market at Horticultural Hall

The Lake Geneva Farmers Market runs Thursday, May 28 from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Horticultural Hall, 330 Broad Street in downtown Lake Geneva. It runs each Thursday from May through October, rain or shine, and the source lists it as free. With over 30 vendors, it’s known for fresh vegetables, artisanal cheeses, baked goods, and flowers. Don’t miss the Yaya’s Skordalia from local chef Mike Anagnose or the dill pickles from Tommy D’s stand, both local favorites.

Why go: Grab coffee, browse the booths, buy something you didn’t plan on buying. That is the farmers market contract.

Best of All Festival at Jennings Holler

Best of All Festival runs May 28 to May 30 at Jennings Holler at the Kettle Moraine Ranch, W379 S9674 County Road S in Eagle. Tickets are listed from $32.64 to $64.15. This event combines Feed Your Head Fest and Glacier Valley Music Fest, with music, art, camping, food, community, and the Kettle Moraine Forest setting doing a lot of heavy lifting.

Why go: This is for the people who like their weekend with a little dust on the boots, music in the trees, and no one asking what time dinner reservations are.

Miss Erica Jazz at Paloma Cantina, Geneva National

Destination Geneva National lists live music at the outdoor Paloma Cantina every Thursday from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM during summer. On May 28, the performer listed is Miss Erica with jazz. The Paloma Cantina borders the one-acre Dance Floor putting course and has course and lake views. Destination Geneva National lists the Clubhouse address as 1221 Geneva National Avenue South in Lake Geneva.

Why go: Jazz, golf-course views, lake energy nearby. It’s polished without feeling fussy.

Thursday Throw Down at Lake Geneva House of Music

Lake Geneva House of Music has Thursday Throw Down on May 28 at Studio G in Lake Geneva. The listing shows Music Trivia, Music Bingo, and Karaoke, with free entry, doors at 5:00 PM and the event starting at 6:00 PM CST.

Why go: Karaoke is either brave or unhinged. Sometimes both. Either way, it makes a Thursday memorable.

Friday, May 29 | Fish fry, free popcorn, and grown-up date night

Williams Bay Farmers Market at Edgewater Park

Start the day on the water. The Williams Bay Farmers Market runs Fridays from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Edgewater Park on East Geneva Street in Williams Bay, with the 2026 season listed from May 22 to September 4. This lakeside market features local produce, baked goods, and distinctive handmade jewelry, plus local artwork including drawings, paintings, and prints, and a petting zoo on special dates. Parking is free.

Why go: Lakeside shopping with the water right there is hard to beat. Grab your morning haul, then let the rest of the weekend unfold.

Friday Fish Fry at Hawk’s View Golf Club

Hawk’s View Golf Club hosts Friday Fish Fry on May 29 from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM at 7377 Krueger Road in Lake Geneva. The menu description includes fresh Icelandic cod, deep-fried, beer battered, or baked, with sides like potato pancakes, corn fritters, fries, coleslaw, tartar sauce, and lemon wedge. Reservations are strongly encouraged.

Why go: Wisconsin fish fry on a Friday near the lake. We don’t need to overthink this.

Movie in the Park | Zootopia 2 at Riverview Park

Lyons For A Better Neighborhood presents Movie in the Park featuring Zootopia 2 on Friday, May 29 at Riverview Park, 1588 Mill Street in Lyons. The movie begins at dusk, listed as approximately 8:15 PM, and admission is free. The event page says to arrive early, bring chairs and blankets, and enjoy free popcorn. Beverages are not included.

Why go: Free popcorn. Free movie. Kids running around in the grass. This is summer doing its job.

Music with Matt Jaye at The Bottle Shop

Matt Jaye plays The Bottle Shop on Friday, May 29 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 617 W Main Street in Lake Geneva. The event description calls him a fabulous guitarist and notes his use of looping and multiple guitars.

Why go: This is a good pre-dinner stop. Or a “we were only going to stay for one glass” stop. Careful.

Burt Bacharach Tribute at The Belfry Music Theatre

The Belfry Music Theatre in Delavan presents “What The World Needs Now,” a Burt Bacharach tribute, on May 29 and May 30 at 7:00 PM. The Belfry describes its venue as a lively, family-friendly environment with professional tribute bands and original recording artists, located at 3601 WI-67 in Delavan.

Why go: A polished theater night without the downtown Chicago parking drama. That alone deserves applause.

Saturday and Sunday | Make a weekend out of it

Saturday Lake Geneva Magic Show at Tristan Crist Magic Theatre

The Saturday Lake Geneva Magic Show runs May 30 at 5:00 PM at Tristan Crist Magic Theatre, 100 N Edwards Boulevard in Lake Geneva. Tickets are listed at $48 plus tax. The show includes magic, comedy, large illusions, theatrical lighting, concessions, drinks, and yes, the event description mentions an appearing helicopter.

Why go: A helicopter appears. That’s the sentence. No need to dress it up.

Train Rides on the East Troy Railroad

East Troy Railroad Museum offers Saturday train rides on May 30 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at 2002 Church Street in East Troy. The ride is described as a 14-mile trip on the only remaining electric interurban tracks in Wisconsin, with historic rail cars from 90 to 100 years old and stops at The Elegant Farmer. Ticket prices are listed as $17 for adults, $14.50 for seniors, $11 for children, and free for ages 2 and under.

Why go: It’s nostalgic in the best way. Plus, The Elegant Farmer stop makes this dangerously pie-adjacent.

Abbey Resort Sunday Brunch and Burnin’ Down the Docks

The Abbey Resort’s Sunday, May 31 calendar includes Sunday Brunch 240 West Live Music from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Sunday Harborside Champagne Brunch from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and Burnin’ Down the Docks from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The resort notes that event schedules are subject to change without notice, so check before you head out.

Why go: Brunch by the harbor is a personality trait around here. We support it.

A quick Kim and Joel note, because lake life has a funny way of becoming real life

One weekend you’re here for the farmers market and a fish fry. Then you start checking drive times. Then you wonder what it would cost to have a place close enough to use on a random Friday night.

That’s how it happens.

Kim and Joel Reyenga with eXp Realty help Chicago families find summer homes, second homes, and full-time “we should’ve done this sooner” homes around Lake Geneva, Williams Bay, Fontana, Delavan, Geneva National, and the surrounding lake communities.

Closing

That’s the Lake this week. A little music, a little market strolling, a little theater, a little fish fry, and enough waterfront-adjacent temptation to make your calendar misbehave.

Go have a good weekend.

And when you start wondering what it would look like to make Lake Geneva your home base, Kim and Joel are ready when you are.
