WHAT’S HAPPENING AT THE LAKE | Your Lake Geneva Weekend Guide for June 3 to 7

Published Wednesday, June 3, 2026 · LakeGenevaWeekend.com

Okay, summer’s officially showing off now.

The patios are open, the cruise boats are running, and the farmers markets are back with the first real produce of the season. If you’ve been waiting for the weekend when the whole lake finally wakes up, this is the one. We’ve got a comedy legend on a Lake Geneva stage, a Beatles tribute under the stars in Delavan, magic shows selling out downtown, and more live music than any one person could possibly catch in three days. (We tried once. We failed. Happily.)

Here’s everything worth knowing for June 3 through 7 around Geneva Lake.

What are the biggest events around Lake Geneva this weekend?

The marquee events June 5 to 7 include comedian Paula Poundstone at Geneva Stage on Saturday, a free Beatles tribute by The BriTins at Delavan’s Phoenix Park Bandshell on Saturday evening, the Special Olympics Wisconsin Summer Games at UW-Whitewater Thursday through Saturday, and Tristan Crist’s Lake Geneva Magic Show running Friday, Saturday, and Sunday downtown.

Let’s start with the big one. Paula Poundstone is coming to Geneva Stage on Saturday, June 6 at 7:30 PM. Yes, that Paula Poundstone. The “Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!” panelist whose improvised tangents are basically a national treasure. Kickstand Productions is bringing her in for one night only, and an intimate room with a comedian who riffs that fast is a rare thing. This will sell out. Grab tickets now or spend Sunday wishing you had.

Over in Delavan, the Phoenix Park Bandshell kicks off its free summer concert season Saturday at 7 PM with The BriTins, a Beatles tribute band. Pack a lawn chair, grab dinner from a downtown Delavan spot, and settle in. Free shows in a beautiful park are exactly the kind of evening that makes you start daydreaming about owning a place up here.

If your crowd leans louder, Jennings Holler out at the Kettle Moraine Ranch in East Troy has a full week. Thursday is Dead Bike Night with the Wave That Flag showcase party featuring Heads All Empty (Grateful Dead tribute, plus the rumble of motorcycles in an open field, which is its own kind of music). Friday brings Reverend Meantooth with a special guest. And Saturday, the Holler hosts a Celebration of Life for Jason Dietrich with the band Phun. A beloved name in the local music scene, and the whole community is welcome.

A couple more you shouldn’t sleep on:

  • Special Olympics Wisconsin Summer Games, UW-Whitewater campus, Thursday through Saturday. Track and field, cornhole, powerlifting. Free for spectators, and worth the short drive just for the energy.
  • Tristan Crist Magic Show, Lake Geneva, Friday 7 PM, Saturday 5 PM, Sunday 2 PM. World-class illusions in a tiny theater. Books out fast every weekend.
  • Million Dollar Quartet at the Fireside Dinner Theater in Fort Atkinson, Friday through Sunday. Elvis, Cash, Lewis, and Perkins, with dinner first. A whole evening, handled.
  • Blacklight Party at Thumbs Up, Saturday night. Wear white. You’ll understand when you get there.

Where can I hear live music around Lake Geneva this week?

Live music is everywhere around Geneva Lake from Wednesday through Sunday. Duesterbeck’s Brewing in Elkhorn, Mars Resort in Lake Como, Bar West at The Abbey in Fontana, and The Bottle Shop in Lake Geneva all host shows this weekend, plus the Lake Geneva House of Music’s nightly lineup and free outdoor concerts in Fontana and Delavan.

Honestly, the hardest part of any June weekend here is choosing. So here’s the cheat sheet.

Duesterbeck’s Brewing Company (Elkhorn) is firing up the outdoor Patio Stage for the season. The Jon Bon Stamos Band plays Friday 6 to 9 PM, the Thirsty Boots Band Saturday 6 to 9 PM, and Lara Bell closes the weekend Sunday afternoon on the Pig Barn Stage, 1 to 4 PM. Cold craft beer, music under the sky, no cover. Very hard to beat.

Mars Resort out on Lake Como has patio music Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, all looking out over the water. It’s a classic Wisconsin supper club, the kind of place families have been coming to for generations. The Piano Bar also hosts live music on Thursday if you want the indoor, candlelit version.

Bar West at The Abbey Resort in Fontana runs live music Friday and Saturday nights, lakeside and lively. And down at The Bottle Shop in Lake Geneva, the patio acoustic series keeps rolling: Cole Brandt Friday afternoon, Jon Dawley Saturday afternoon, and DNA Sunday afternoon. Perfect post-beach, glass-of-wine territory.

The Lake Geneva House of Music never really stops. Friday Night Live on Friday, the Thursday Throwdown on Thursday, and (a personal favorite) Taco Tuesday with Mexican food, open mic, and a jam session that draws people who walk in for one taco and leave four hours later.

And don’t forget the freebies in the parks. Music in the Park in Fontana opens its season Thursday, June 4 at Reid Park Gazebo (6:30 PM), and the Phoenix Park Bandshell series runs Saturdays all summer in Delavan. Both free, both gorgeous, both the kind of thing this area does better than just about anywhere.

Thinking about more than just a weekend at the lake?

A lot of our readers start out coming up for a Saturday concert or a fish fry. Then it’s every weekend. Then they’re checking how far the drive really is from Chicago (about 90 minutes), and whether that lake cottage they keep passing is actually for sale.

If that’s starting to sound like you, Kim & Joel Reyenga know this lake, these towns, and this market inside and out. Browse what’s available around Geneva Lake at yourwiscohome.com. No pressure, just a look.

What’s happening for families and kids around Lake Geneva right now?

Families have plenty to do around the lake this week, including the East Troy Electric Railroad’s Friday train rides, the Lake Geneva Cruise Line’s Saturday Ice Cream Social Tour, weekend kayak tours on Delavan Lake, the indoor waterpark at Timber Ridge, and Tristan Crist’s family-friendly magic shows in Lake Geneva.

The East Troy Electric Railroad runs Friday train rides on the last working electric interurban tracks in Wisconsin. Departures at 10 AM, noon, and 3 PM, with a stop at the Elegant Farmer. About 15 miles north, and kids lose their minds over it (the good way).

On the water, the Lake Geneva Cruise Line Ice Cream Social Tour sails Saturday from the Riviera Docks. A scenic cruise plus a stop for ice cream. That’s the entire pitch, and it works every single time. They also run the Black Point Estate Tour on weekends if your crew skews older and history-curious.

Over on Delavan Lake, Lake Lawn Resort has guided kayak tours Saturday at 8 AM (single kayaks $35, doubles $45), a scenic narrated tour aboard the Lake Lawn Queen, and Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark is celebrating Bruce the Moose’s 25th birthday all weekend at the indoor waterpark (heated to 84 degrees year-round, so weather’s never the issue).

Crafty kids, or a rainy stretch? Gallery 223 in downtown Lake Geneva runs a fused glass dragonfly class Wednesday afternoon. Everyone goes home with a one-of-a-kind keepsake.

What farmers markets are open around Lake Geneva?

Six markets run across the Geneva Lake area this week. The Lake Geneva Farmers Market at Horticultural Hall is Thursday 8 AM to 1 PM, Williams Bay at Edgewater Park is Friday 8 AM to 1 PM, Saturdays on the Square in Elkhorn runs Saturday 9 AM to 1 PM, and the Geneva Outdoor Market at the House of Music is Sunday 10 AM to 2 PM.

Bring a canvas bag and arrive early. The good stuff (early-season greens, local honey, the bakery tables) goes fast. Here’s the full week:

Where should I eat around Lake Geneva this weekend?

Friday means fish fry around here. The Abbey Resort’s Waterfront Restaurant in Fontana and The Bunker Bar & Grill both serve the classic Wisconsin Friday fish fry with lake-area atmosphere. For Sunday, The Abbey’s Harborside Champagne Brunch and the Lake Geneva Cruise Line’s Brunch Buffet Cruise are two of the most popular options on the lake.

Couple of opinions, since you’re here. The Friday Fish Fry at The Abbey is the move if you want lake views with your perch. The Bunker is the move if you want the no-frills, all-you-can-eat, locals-know version. Both right. Different nights, different moods.

Sunday morning, you’ve got a choice between staying put for the Harborside Champagne Brunch at The Abbey or making it an event with the Sunday Brunch Buffet Cruise out of the Riviera Docks. Reservations strongly recommended for either, because everyone else had the same idea.

Local Tip from Kim & Joel

Here’s what we’d actually do with this weekend. Hit the Williams Bay Farmers Market Friday morning, grab lunch lakeside, then catch the early Bottle Shop set Saturday afternoon before the crowds. Save Saturday night for Paula Poundstone (if you snagged tickets) or the free BriTins show in Delavan. Sunday, do the brunch cruise and let the lake send you home happy. Trust us, ending a weekend on the water beats sitting in traffic wondering where the time went.
